Are You A Gifted Artisan?

And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. So you shall speak to all who are gifted artisans, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments, to consecrate him, that he may minister to Me as priest.” Exodus 28:3-4

Just wanted to share this thought with you all.

You know how sometimes it’s so hard to buy decent and modest clothing? Well maybe it’s your fault. Yup I said it, maybe it’s your fault. Or wait, maybe it’s my fault?! (still figuring that one out!) I read this scripture and thought, if all the people who God has given the “spirit of wisdom” in such matters to make garments for the priest of the grace dispensation (all of us!) “you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people" 1 Peter 2:9, than maybe we could find more decent clothing.

I guess what I wanted to say with this post is that, if God has given you wisdom (talent) in something, even something simple as sewing (or anything for that matter), that that, could also be used for his glory! So go ahead, do it, I encourage you to get motivated and bless the people of God with the talent he has given to you. Make modest clothing so that “the priest can have holy garments for glory and for beauty”. So that more and more modest clothing can be readily available and we can represent the Most High with glory and beauty!!! You could be a very essential part in the body of Christ. God gives many different talents, just because yours may not be behind a pulpit, does not make it less important. Aaron was the priest (the one behind the pulpit), but in order for his ministry to be succesful, he needed to have a “gifted artisan”(the one not on the pulpit) in his life, to create the garments in accordance to God’s word to enable him to present himself in the holy place!

Something to think about!

And as I promised last week, tomorrow will be Tutorial Thursday. (I hope, keep your fingers crossed!)

  2. Very good post. You are right, we are to use our talents for the Lord. Thankfully I have learned to sew very young and have sewn a few clothes or made clothes more modest.
